Itinerary
After clearing customs and passport control at the Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport, you will meet our driver who will be holding a board with your name clearly printed on it. He will assist to take your luggage and drive you to Lake Manyara National Park with a Jeep for a half-day game drive.
Lake Manyara is home to an incredible array of birdlife that thrives on its brackish waters. Pink flamingos stoop and graze by the thousands, colourful specks against the grey minerals of the lakeshore. Yellow-billed storks swoop and corkscrew on thermal winds rising up from the escarpment, and herons flap their wings against the sun-drenched sky. Even reluctant birdwatchers will find something to watch and marvel at within the national park.
You will enjoy lunch at the picnic site and then continue with a game drive toward the exit of the park. Head to Karatu village for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy an early breakfast and then drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. You will enjoy lunch at the picnic site within the crater.
Tanzania’s “secret garden”, the Ngorongoro Crater, is one of Africa’s premier attractions, a world-renowned wonder, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The game drive in this area features the 610m-deep crater formed 3 million years ago when a large volcano exploded and collapsed, creating a natural amphitheatre. It is home to over 30,000 animals and you have a chance to witness the Big 5 in their natural habitat.
Later, you will ascend to the crater rim for panoramic views and photos before transferring back to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will be driving to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. You will enjoy lunch at a picnic site in the park.
This park is the home of giant elephants and old baobab trees and covers 2,850km2. It runs along the Tarangire River and is famous for its huge population of elephants, diversity of wildlife, and baobab trees. Game drives through Tarangire National Park are particularly thrilling during the dry season as the wildlife is clustered and moves closer to the Tarangire River. This offers a great opportunity to see plenty of animals in one place and to witness the predator-prey relationship in action.
Dinner and overnight in Tarangire.
Today, after breakfast you will be transferred to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport for a departure flight to Zanzibar Island.
Zanzibar is known as Africa’s tropical paradise, offering the world’s most beautiful beaches. It offers miles of white, sandy beaches dotted with palm trees, surrounded by the clear azure water of the Indian Ocean. The island is part of the Zanzibar Archipelago together with Pemba Island and many smaller islands. Referred to as the “Spice Island”, it is rich with history in the spice trade and has many spice plantations.

An optional activity at an extra cost, is an early departure to the southern point of the island. Visit Kizimkazi fishing village to view the amazing bottle-nosed and humpback dolphins which are sighted during a short boat trip from the village. Kizimkazi is also the site of the oldest mosque in East Africa, dating from the 12th century. After a local Swahili lunch, the tour proceeds to Jozani Forest which is home to the unique red colobus monkeys and mysterious mangroves.
You will then return to your resort to relax, enjoy the sunset, and have dinner and overnight.
