Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
The trek begins at Lemosho Gate before entering the montane rainforest. The trail gradually climbs through dense forest toward Mti Mkubwa Camp.
The route continues through the upper rainforest and heath before reaching the Shira Plateau. The landscape becomes more open as trekkers gain elevation.
Trekkers cross the Shira Plateau toward Shira 2 Camp. The relatively gradual terrain provides an opportunity to continue acclimatizing while exploring the high-altitude landscape.
The trail continues toward Lava Tower before descending toward Barranco Camp. The climb-high, sleep-lower profile provides an important acclimatization opportunity.
The day begins with the ascent of the Barranco Wall. The trail then crosses valleys and ridges toward Karanga Camp.
The route continues through alpine desert toward Barafu Camp. Trekkers reach the summit base and prepare for the final ascent.
